I’ve introduced books to my kids since they were toddlers. Even before they could read, they would watch the pictures and mimic our reactions during storytime. It’s surprising how much they understand and remember! Then when they’re starting to talk, they try their best to tell stories—even if it sounds like a jumble of words to us. That’s okay; it’s all just part of the process of learning to speak.

I always encourage parents to stock up on simple books—whether from the library or the shop—and to enjoy them together whenever there’s a free moment or as part of the bedtime routine.
