Out Of Comfort Zone: 12 Years, 10,000 Books, and One New Beginning
For the last 12 years, my life has been shaped by educational environments, especially secondary school libraries. As a former Head of Library, I’ve visited many international schools and seen various library management systems that have made our professional lives more diverse.
But more importantly, I’ve seen how stories shape people.
I’ve decided to step away from the institutional "stacks" to share what I’ve learned on my own terms. Why? Because I realized the most valuable lessons I have aren’t just about how to find a book—they are about how we curate our lives, our homes, and our minds.
This isn’t just a "how-to" manual for librarians (though there will be plenty of tips for my fellow book-warriors!). I want to help new librarians find their footing without the burnout and share the "organized chaos" that comes with being a professional book-lover.
Let’s connect!
I’m no longer behind the Reference Desk or in the comfort of my library office, but the "Information Desk" of my life is officially open.
If you’ve been in the education or library world, what’s the one thing you’ve always wanted to say but couldn’t in the office? Let’s chat in the comments!
